NWMO Man Pleads Guilty in Dog Fighting Ring

A Northwest Missouri man has admitted to taking part in a dog fighting conspiracy.
Cris Bottcher, Gilman City, pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday afternoon.
Bottcher, a registered nurse at Harrison County Community Hospital, admitted that he took part in a conspiracy to transport animals across state lines for animal fighting.
He also admitted to sponsoring or exhibiting an animal in dog fighting.
Bottcher conspired with others in the dog fighting that took place at his Gilman City home on several occasions this year.
Bottcher faces up to 5 years in prison without parole and a fine up to $250,000.
His dogs are now being cared for by the Humane Society.
