I was looking through www.TBO.com and I came arcross this. Ive been doing some research on how we can fight this BSL here in Florida. Not sure if this will help us or hurt us.

That's a good start Nate. But here is the shity reality of it. Ppl report bites as APBT bites even if the dog is not a APBT, all the time. So if the dog resembles a APBT, Then they claim APBT. If a bully bit some one they would claim APBT, If a medium sized mut bit some one they would claim APBT.

There are reasons for this.
1. education... most ppl don't even know WTF a APBT even "really" is.
2. sensationalize... they will get more exposure if they claim it was a APBT.
3. ego... sympathy... I'm sure you can see how these emotions would play into a dog bite report.

So statistics are hard for us to believe. I personally feel, FAR less APBT bites happen than are reported.

I agree. There are so many breeds that are confused with "pitbulls". When people see Enzo I tell them he is an APBT and they look at me like what the fuck.

On a good note. Them statistics even if inaccurate are in favor for the APBT. I see alot of chows, boxers, gsd, and chi dogs on there.

Exactly but, when I go to the politicians I dont want it to be battle of the breeds. I would like to point out alot of the myths about the APBT. But I want to bring it to their attention that not only will the owners/families of these breeds be affected but everyone as a whole. Just think how many shelters will be jammed packed if a county actually went through with a banning. Also how much money it would cost to try get every "dangerous" breed out of that county. I dont not want to see another Denver banning every again.

Oh you mean another APBT holocaust. Me ether. But not to make it a battle of the breeds but a tool to point out the question why is the APBT the scapegoat for this action. For some reason I see counties using this as a tool to make money to. Like forced yearly registration of your dog. And it being a dangerous breed doubling the price for it.

That is why I see alot of counties jumping on the bandwagon.

the county my mother lives in makes you pay 150.00 per APBT for the yearly registration fee or they fine you 500.00 or take your dog plus your only allowed to have 2 APBT's on one property you would think with it being in a poor area anyway and the economy the way it is they would find another way to keep up with who ownes what but what can you do besides try to educate but they didnt' listen...............
