excatly!:) so no, pit bulls should NOT be eating large breed dog foods! that drives me crazy. the calcium and phosphate levels to high for a medium breed dog you feed them you run the risk of osteo dieases and malformation of the bones in dogs of this size..okay i had to get that rant out..i feel better :)

As far as sizes go many of these dogs knecks n chests qualify as large breed sizes. My boys don't fit into regular sizes at just over 60 n 65 lbs I don't think they are large but there sizes are.

yeah and i think thats what confuses ppl. But an APBT bone structure is not one of a large breed dog. Large breed dog food is designed to "enhance" the growth of large breed's bones... As far as i know large dogs bones can grow to fast or something and this food is suposed to help with that.

large breed food is based on a weight AND height ratio... alot of ppl think "oh my dog is over 60lbs let me get it a large breed food" when that isnt the case. like PM said its for dogs like rotties, danes, gsds....
