So White, after being naughty in obedience, still good for people to see the breed behaving:

I was very happy to see the children (we had several) and pet owning public trying out the rally course. It's a great way to get people involved with doing something with their pet.

Great videos! I love the way White prances and every time he walks, his tail is wagging!!

Just got around to watching the video's, you and so make it look easy. Great focus on both of your parts. I like the fact that you put the newbie in for comparison, brings things in perspective. I want to try this.

Thanks, Chris, Jimmy shot both videos without me knowing he had done it. I put the girl's video in mainly because she was having a great time and I hope we were able to influence her to try it with her dog. So White and I are far from perfect, and were really just training in the ring, but she represented the breed well and the average pet owner is pretty amazed by the sight of a trained dog, especially one with a wagging tail.

Her video is the thread right below this one, and Etta's is the next down. We busted.

White looks great. What a pretty picture you guys make in that routine. Nice up attitude, very good focus and quick reactions. So much better than the Rally I have seen locally. Here, the handlers appear to be baiting their dogs the whole time, and some of the dogs seem not to know even basic commands.

Thanks, Howard! I've seen Rally exhibitors and their dogs look really awful-- but when it is done properly, it can be beautiful and flowing. I still think it's a good beginning point for obedience, and the judging I saw this year was more like how we are judged in obedience, deductions for things like repeated commands, tight leads, & out of control dogs.

Here's a little article from AKC where they talk about the show we demoed for:

Thanks to Obedience Chair and long time friend, Laura Gibson, who has worked tirelessly for many years to make sure we have one of the best obedience trials in the country, for including us.
