I am Jeff, I have been a member of this forum since 02/2011,I am more of a reader than a talker. I have had American Pitbull Terriers since 1976. My 1st was a Big Cholate red nose called Beast who totally won my heart he loved everyone. He out hunted my Uncles bird dogs in the field and on the Lake. He learned how to herd cattle by watching the family ACD's "Blue Healers"/Australian Shepherds he could out worked my dads cattle dogs all day. He was my best friend, he lived to be 16 years. I have always had a pitbull in my life since several from shelters and breeders. I have been involved in the BSL fight for a long time no matter what level, writing letters, doing marches, meet the breeds, or all the above. I had shown several of my APBT's to UKC obedience titles. I lost my girl Ziva in 1998, I was have trouble finding dogs that resembled what I knew as ABPT's an Obedience trainer that I had worked with had always reffered to several of the dogs I had worked with as AmStaffs. When I lost my girl she made a recommendation to vistit an AmStaff breeder in the area. I did and the dogs I met were the type of dogs I had known for the past 20 years. I got a Male from her and thus started off in the AmStaff world. Rangle was one of the smartest dogs I worked with from a puppy he was a dog that needed a job. He did learned well from agility to compeditive obedience, there were certine parts that he did better than others. In obediece he did everything well but felt that the long downs were 15 to 30 seconds to long, 8 times he broke either the long sit or the long down right at the end. In Agility he liked to do each obsticle so much that after he would do it he would repeat it, however it was never the same one twice so you never knew when it would happen. His ultimate release was frizbee he loved to out show th Border Collies and Australian Shepherds.
In 2000 I met an Wed a Fellow AmStaff lover who had been breeding AmStaffs for 10 years. We have continued breeding under the Ironheart kennel name. The line we breed is the old X-Pert/Rolls line. The dogs we produce look like dogs of the 30's, 40's, 50's, & 60's.
Thank you for this forum I am pleased to be a part of it.
