Has any one ever herd of this registery? Is so is it better than nothing or is it shit? Got an email from a prez at a dog club i asked if they had any pull events for un registerd dogs. She said yes "can compete in anything at our fun shows. He would also be eligible to particiapte in fun events at our point show" and that they (the club) is sanctioned by ADBA. That i could not get him registerd threw ADBA but i might be able to threw AARD and gave me some contact info on some ppl to talk to about it at the show.

So i figuerd i would ask for yall's input on AADR

You can register thru them. They like the APBR and CKC will register dogs with a photo and "start" linage for your dog.

Fun events let unregistered dogs compete. ADBA (I believe) and UKC you can get limited registration for events by spaying/neutering your dog.

Hmm so they dont actually judge the dog they just look at a pic. Hell some one could send any pic of any dog. Sounds like just a way to make money. and not a reputable registry. I mean how could they judge teeth and wieght with a pic?

Or am i wrong and it is somewhat reputable?

This is from the AADR website

"To qualify for Registration, the dog must first be registered with a domestic registry acceptable to the AADR, such as the ADBA, BFKC, UKC or the ABKC. Additionally, the dog must be registered with the same name that appears on the certificate from the previous North American registry."

http://www.aadrdogs.com/ the AADR is reputable, several friends of mine go to AADR shows.

They probably have a limited registration program like ADBA and UKC where if your dog is FIXED you are allowed to compete with other registered dogs in any event but conformation.

If you opt to not get your dog fixed you will be able to compete in fun shows only.

Yes that is what there site states but I know from first hand experience that they will register dogs by photo and start "linage" for a dog. A few years ago that was how my friend started registering her dogs and then the puppies those dogs had. They sent her a certificate that had the dogs name and parents listed as unknown. When she had puppies the puppies then had one generation listed on the papers from them. They are an actual registry also tho so you will see legitimately registered dogs there.

Nothing like first hand experience. You cant learn EVERYTHING from a book or a website LOL

The thing that makes them different from the APBR and the CKC is that they actually hold events in which you can compete at rather than just being a registry that just sends you papers to up the price of your pedigreed pups like the other 2.

For my experience, I'd say that the AADR is a very good registry.

They are now located in NC under new ownership, and the owner has helped fight many of the legislation in the state. I believe she is willing to get the word out and help fight BSL and other legislation if you contact them.

They have shows, and weight pulls. I believe your dog can do weight pull if not registered, but I think they have to be spayed/neutered (I am not 100% sure on that, though). They, also, have a treadmill races. I believe the owner also wants to add other actives as well.

They did have a foundation stock part to the registry, but I think it ended in Jan., because that was in place under the old owner.

Interesting....how is a 'treadmill race'....ran? Is it a distance thing? Just curious because I've never heard of it.

The dog gets on there for two minutes, and there is a odometer (I guess you'd call it) that shows how far the dog ran and how fast, which ever dog runs the farthest in two minutes wins.
