Tanner has this spot on him. The vet has seen it but said to leave it for now, but it seems to be getting bigger. He scratches it sometimes.

Nevaeh started out with that same looking spot on her back left hip and when I took her to the vet they said it was probably an allergic reaction to something, this was in Feb. They gave her 2 kinds of medication and we went on our way. Well a month later she has tons of spots and still is itching everywhere on her body, I took her back, they did a skin scrape, found nothing and still concluded that she had an allergic reaction to something. Another month goes by, Nevaeh is bloodied up, looks like a hairless right, refuses to stop itching herself to death and I am truly about ready to give up. Mind you, I have already went to 3 different vets so I am going back to my first original one, well she did another skin scrape and found a scabies mite. She showed it to me but it was really gross looking, yah so it took them till just now to figure it out, grrrr, but after a month of being on her medication for that she is all back to her normal self, no hair missing except for the tip of her tail and mid part of her tail, BUT the spot looked identical to the one your tanner has. If you start to notice other spots to start popping up and he starts itching hiself making his self bleed then I would be worried.

Actually to be honest, I was so thankful it was scabies on her, lol, I didn't want to have to deal with allergy problems for the rest of her life. The weird thing is my daughter is always hugging all over Nay Nay and so am I and we never got the scabies, yay.

Alot of spots to different things look like that spot also, so don't be worried, just keep an eye out on it. Nevaeh didn't start to get rashy and red bumps till after a month from having that one spot.

Read my thread on neem oil and tea tree oil in thehealth section. I suggest you smearsome neem oil on it it won't hurt her and it won't interfere with allergymeds. It will kill allsprts of mites. If you think it's fungus try tea tree oil. Itdoes the same as neem
Oil. I would reccomend applying the oil to the spot plus a half inch around it into the fur every other day or when the oil dries out. Wash area and reapply oil.

Any time I see spots I suspect mange now lol. Combat had a bald spot on his side, scraping showed demodex mange. Its just a mite that lives in their skin naturally but for some reason ever now and then it will cause problems.

You would have to have a scraping to be sure but treatment is pretty inexpensize, usually just a tablet and a cream and it goes away

But let us know what you find and what works. Always helpful to have the info! :)

I thought I saw another spot the other day it kinda looks like a small birthmark when it starts, but then I couldn't find it again. If another one pops up or if this one gets any bigger I will take him in and keep you posted. Thanks all.
