Welcome to mypitbullpro.com Esoteric. Ripley is one of if not the most gorgeous Am Staff’s I’ve ever laid my eye’s on! I would love to see her compete in the AKC conformation show ring. Do you plan on bringing her to the next AKC sanctioned show that the Charleston Kennel Club is hosting at the Exchange Park / Coastal Carolina Fair Grounds in Ladson, South Carolina next year? If so, I live less than a mile from there and would love to watch her compete and also see her up front in person. It isn’t everyday I see an Am Staff that catches my eye however, Ripley has done just that.
(BTW) By the way, George Bailey, do you plan on making the trip to South Carolina next year for the Charleston Kennel Club’s AKC show?
Once again, welcome to mypitbullpro.com Esoteric!

When is it, Jack? And who superintends it? Moss-Bow? I barely survived doing the STCA Nationals, and it was only 2&3/4 hrs from us. Might be a fun trip, would get to meet you, Paula & boys, and Chris, and maybe hang out with Retro and Esoteric.

I'll get the exact details from them tomorrow at practice. Our two boy's and their son play competitive baseball together on the same travel ball team. They really have some nice Boston Bull Terrier’s and Pekingese’s. Other than them, I have really never had any real contact with the Club, “officially” because they never lifted a finger to help me fight BSL or MSN in the 12 year that I was a Canine Lobbyist here in South Carolina. In fact, the one time I did reach out to them for help they basically told me they weren’t worried because their dog’s weren’t “pit bull’s” and wouldn’t be effected by “Breed Specific Legislation“. Most of their member’s who own Am Staff’s do not even know the true history of their breed and that the Am Staff is nothing more than an American Pit Bull Terrier that has been bred in a very different direction (form, function and purpose) that was accepted for registration in the AKC Stud Book as the Staffordshire Terrier in 1936 on strict stipulation’s that the word “pit“ would never appear in the breed‘s official name. The breed’s name was revised in January of 1972 to the American Staffordshire Terrier because breeder’s in the United States had developed a variety which was heavier in weight than that of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in England thus the name change to distinguish them as a separate breed from their counterparts abroad. Strangely Paula and I had company yesterday who is a member of the Charleston Kennel Club and brought over her friend who owns an Am Staff. She thought and was under the impression that the APBT was descended from the Am Staff not the other way around! LMAO. Needless to say after about two hours of showing her books and pictures (including the AKC’s own article where they admit that the AM Staff’s conformation standard is based on Colby’s Primo) and printing out web addresses so that she could continue to educate herself and her husband on the breed, I think I made a new friend. Oh , and so did Buckshot. She not only loved him but his 7 generation ADBA pedigree as well.

thanks! ripley and her brother grim were bred by kristin (retro) and myself. Carla Restivo allowed us to use her male and we are very please with what he got. Ripley will be shown in conformation once her schutzhund work is done and she matures. i love the south carolina shows so that is a definite possibility ;)
