We just got back from the vet for Thor's first exam. I am assuming he had never been to the vet before because my vet found a heart murmur. With a mild murmur being a class 1 and a strongest being class 6. Our vet said Thor's murmur is a class 5 to 5.5. She told me a ultrasound would be $800 and there's a 90% chance he will have to have heart surgery.

Vet said the heart surgery would start at $2000 and we are by no means rich people. We are going to try what we can to get everything done. I know if we send him back to the breeder there is a huge chance he will just be put down.

OMG I am so sorry!! Personally I would get a second opinion. You know just to make sure. That must be devastating!!! I hope it isn't what it seems and keep us posted.

Is it too late for pet insurance? Peanuts mommy knows a little about it, you still gotta pay for the procedure up front but you recoup some of the cost afterward. Poor baby. Hang in there little man!! We are praying, pulling and wishing the best for you!

Awww, yah, get a 2nd opinion just to be on the safe side, also, our vet here has something like a credit card, (if your credit is okay that is) and that way you can make payments instead of up front. Man, if there is a way to set something up on here if it gets really bad for y'all, I would love to donate something when we get paid. Anything for such a great person and a precious puppy. Please let me know if you need anything.

My heart goes out to you roxy. I would be crushed if i found out my best buddy had a serious illness. I would do whatever i can to help him. Whatever you do, make sure its best for him, not what makes you feel good. Think ahead in the future, see if this surgery is going to make his life worth living to him, not just give him life, but rob him of everything a dog loves doing.

Thank you guys. Mypitbull and Gopit are full of some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. You guys are making me cry...lol.

Even if all we can give him is a few months I will make sure he is happy. I would never keep him holding on just for my happiness.

His murmur is very bad. The vet put my hands on his chest and you can feel it. I can see how the breeder never caught it....

Cuz most breeders dont care...SOrry to be mean. Now if he has one isn't the chances that the rest may also have them? Have u spoke to breeder? Does he say anything about it.I know you was looking at some high priced dogs so maybe you will get a DECENT breeder who may refund some cash to you to help for his care. Now about the vet bill, my vet also does credit card care with REALLY low interest and mine is 12 months no interest.BUT im sure donation will help.Ill hit it up on payday thursday.

The breeder refunded the fee I paid for him. So that has gone into the fund..
