Here is a picture of James Crenshaw with my Uncle Wesley. It was taken out of his book. The dog in the pic(sister) is related to my old Wolfie dog who passed a few years ago. When I first got into the pits(mid 1980's), I had some old scatterbred pit bull of Mccoy lines. They were good dogs in every way, but the peds were not great to look at. I got my first real performance bred dog in 1992 from him(John Wesley truett). http://i1014.photobucket.com/albums/af267/bethburgess2007/ScannedImage.jpg

Right on Howard, thats awesome. although i disagree with the statement about breeding in the book...

"when two experience dogmen are present the breeding station is not necessary."

I'm not sure where you got your information from Dan but, James Crenshaw was not the first person to get the ADBA to hold a show in Georgia. The rightful recognition and honor of that hard work and dedication belongs to Denise Holcomb. Denise was the driving force and single handedly carried the weight of that show on her back (physically and metaphorically speaking) from start to finish. The only reason why the Peach State APBTC folded was because Denise’s health issues forced her to no longer continue hosting the show’s all by herself. I would elaborate on specific details but out of respect and Denise’s privacy, that’s all I’ll say.

James was a good dogman and you know from our private conversations the connection we shared. He was indeed a part of that original Georgia crew however, by no means does he deserve credit for single handedly getting the ADBA to allow a show in Georgia as your post implies. Again, like I stated before that rightful recognition and honor belongs to Denise Holcomb.

No offence meant Dan. I just wanted to set the record straight, historically.

Regards,
Jack

I'm sure her husbands incarceration didn't help. I used to think allot of that man , till I dug a little deeper into his past... Seems he and Albert White shared the same sickness.
