I was suprised to read he was 72 Lbs on the chain and 56 Lbs pit weight. Big difference.

But it said he was easy to condition, and liked it....they must have fed him like a king while not in a keep(and rightly so he earned it) LOL
A prime example of not having a dog in the state of "perma-condition" as you mentioned in another thread, Dan.

Yes but why i find it interesting is people always use Colbys Pinscher as an example of a LARGE APBT. Where in fact he wasnt as large as they thought he was.... Still on the larger side though.

I do not believe any one dog is a 24 time winner. Heck Double GrCH Tornada was a 10 time winner and that is almost unheard of. For a dog to even make Champion (3xW), it has to be a special dog, so I highly doubt 24xW.

Different era Howard, Tornado is the only REGISTERED Dbl Grch... its not entirely unheard of at all. Most wins are not catalouged, and for good reason. I entirely believe he was a 24x winner. It was a different age and the keeps and competition were primitive. As above posted, most matches did not last over 40 minutes that he was in. A 20 minute match puts no where near the mileage a 3+ hour match does. A Champion (3xW) is only as special as the competition he went into.

Well, most keeps last 6-8 weeks, longer if the dog is out of shape beforehand. After the match you would want to give a dog around 6 months off or at least 3 months to heal up internally. Most dogs are not mentally mature until around 2-3 years. So even at 2-3 matches a year, and only matching until about 6-7 years old. Anything over 10 wins is questionable IMO. Also most real dogmen do not count OTC wins toward their championship. I find the idea of 24 wins pretty unbeleivable.
Just stating my opinion. Just so you know. I am no stranger to game dogs, that is what I started with, that is what my family is into, and what I will probably die with.
I have had my hands on some of the greats around here, (GRCH solution, GRCH joey, ect) and I do know gamedogs. I am very familiar with the breed, not just show dogs and schutzhund dogs.
I also realize/agree that a winner is only as good as the competition he goes into.

Yah but you assume alot Howard. Was he even put into a keep? Multiple matches in one day, how much time he had off. I'm guessing even if it was OTC if a wager was made, the match was counted. I respect your opinion but completely disagree with it. Another thing, your calling Colbys character into question by doubting his claim :/ you don't need to tell me about yourself btw. ;) this is not a "most dogs" scenario, I don't like to put any dog on a pedastoole as it is JUST a dog, but this is a foundation dog of the APBT as we know it and i think that all n all it's feasible to have won 24 matches.
Do you also refute Cottons Bullet's record?

I personally would not count rolls as matches. And many of old time dogmen and modern dogmen are known to exxagerate(sp). No, I do not expect or want everyone to agree with me...where would the fun be in all that. :')
