Irvine, CA - Daddy is a special dog...an ambassador for his breed with an exceptional personality. Daddy, like too many of his breed, had been used for dog-fighting before he was rescued, his body bears the scars of his past abuses.

Angel Parisa rescued Daddy from a shelter this past Spring. More than likely, the gentle dog was dumped there because he was not a dog with a fighter's heart.

In fact, Daddy tries to avoid confrontation at all costs. But Daddy's trip to the animal shelter, with the masses of other Pit Bulls, was nearly a death sentence.

Thankfully, Parisa learned about the beautiful dog and his plight to get out of the shelter, and she was able to pull him to safety. Daddy's body was scarred and thin and he had medical problems that required extensive veterinary intervention. Though the vet bills ran into the thousands, Parisa could not turn her back on the gentle dog, so she found a way to pay for his surgeries and multiple blood transfusions.

Just last week, Daddy again proved to Parisa that the saving of his life was worthwhile. Daddy and Parisa were taking a walk when the normally excellent walker, Daddy, began pulling Parisa down a side street.

His behavior was unexpected and unusual. Parisa was on the brink of frustration with the dog when she noticed a woman in distress.

The determined Pit Bull pulled Parisa to the distressed woman. The person had a heart condition and she was experiencing pain and on the brink of collapse when Parisa and Daddy reached her. Daddy immediately launched into investigative mode - sniffing the woman all over, trying to determine the source of her distress.

Parisa was able to assist the woman in getting her heart medication and sat with her until her cardiac spell had passed and the woman had stabilized. Parisa told the Dog News Examiner that she fully credits Daddy for saving this woman's life.

Parisa insists that, of her own accord, she would have never walked to the street where the woman was located, and that the woman would have collapsed without someone there to support her. If no one had been there to help with the heart medications, the worst could have occurred. Somehow the intuitive Pit Bull was able to sense the lady's distress and he was able to get his person where she needed to be at that moment.

Angel Parisa loves Daddy. He is obviously a very special dog and she wants to find him an incredibly special new home. Angel regularly rescues Pit Bulls, and she admits that they are all special, but Daddy has touched her life and her heart, in a unique way.

Perhaps it is his outstanding personality, or perhaps it has to do with the amount of time that she spent nursing him back to health....the hours that she spent lying on the floor, holding his head, when he was too weak to stand. Perhaps it is all of this. Regardless, his new home must be exceptional in order to win her stamp of approval.

A few stats about the amazing Pit Bull that needs a new home:

* Approx. 3 yrs of age
* Good health (all prior issues are now resolved)
* Good with other dogs
* Good with kids
* Well-behaved and calm
* Ambassador for his breed

If you feel that you might be able to provide Daddy with the home and life that he deserves, you can contact Angel Parisa at: angelparisa@yahoo.com, orangelparisasavesdogs@gmail.com

Angel prefers to adopt to an individual with breed experience and she will be conducting a home inspection and extensive interview. After you invest as much as she has in a dog, you only want the very best.

If you would like to help contribute to Daddy's veterinary expenses, which Angel Parisa is still paying off, you can donate at her Chip-In link. When Daddy first arrived to Angel, he nearly died on three separate occasions. His medical bills exceeded $5000.00. If Daddy had died, the woman on the street may have died last week. Things do happen for a reason.

That is a heartwarming story

but

I am so sick and fucking tired of every single pit or pit mix that ends up in a shelter being a "fighting dog" :mad: I call bullshit!

That dog has no visible scarring, he looks like a very very poorly byb dog. Oh wait! his ears are cropped! That must be why!

Don't get me wrong, this is a sweet story about a sweet dog that deserves a loving home but good intent or not these stupid feel good pieces help to misinform and further push the STUPID stereotypes.

even says in the article "good with other dogs"

YEP MUST BE A FIGHTING DOG! but because someone hugged him he is now a changed animal.

sorry rant over

Stephanie* this is why it is best for me not to post much anymore LOL*

Its all to garner pity and solicit the news headlines, if its a pitbull, its a fighting dog, if its another breed with one little scar, its been used as a bait dog.

Yeah i agree that pit aint never been rolled and if anything you can blame poor ownership and neglect. That sterio typing against our breed is so common place that its a social norm in everyday life for everyone except those of us who know better. Iv seen and heard enough .
