Im probably going to sound pretty NEW to it all.. but anyone one else have dribble problems?? Chino is very well potty trained for 13 weeks, but ANYTIME he goes potty he comes back and leaves a bit of a dribble trail.

I heard people have had dogs as old as 1 year that do that.. Anyone share this??

I just lift him up after he pees and shake him or wipe it off with a paper towel.

He left me a nasty surprise today...he peed inside his kong toy, and i didnt know...so when i picked it up, all the pee inside fell on me...that sneaky little runt!

I dont know man, he keep peeing in his crate, is 2-3 hrs too long for a 8 week old pup to be able to hold it in?

arent u supposed to NOT shake a puppy?

Not shake the crap out of him, just one gentle shake, so that drop of pee hanging on his pee pee drops down.

StaffyDaddy

yes. they can hold it for about 8 minutes lol

no im playing. but yeah its way too long. some can do that, but its not good to expect it from them. i would take your pup out EVERY hour because the more encouragement he gets when he goes to the right place, the more he will want to go there. and tell you when he wants and needs to go

and how big is your crate?

dont overdo the NO BAD when he makes a mistake this young. remember that he's ONLY 8 weeks, the person you got him from may or may not have trained him efficiently. I know I even slipped up last week Chino had an accident and I YELLED and now every time he comes back from the potty he gives me a guilty face. hes gotten over it pretty much, but i know it was wrong on my part so just pick him up when you catch him in the act. pick him up and take him to the spot and tell him good boy when he continues to relieve himself.

patience man.. i didnt have much til i got chino :D

no i didnt say you expect too much. you gotta remember our breed is very smart, but they can also be very stubborn. heres a few things to live by

a tired puppy is a happy puppy. exercise your dog and wear him out a little bit before you do "training". also, it helps when theyre hungry

make everything a living experience. praise the behavior thats good, and let him know when he's doing something wrong. they need a leader, not a pushover, but dont be a NAZI

remember that you made mistakes. thats why momma had yo ass in a diaper. keep his area clean and he will hate soiling it

i asked you how big your crate was because we talked about it before. if you get a large crate (which is the practical option) make sure that you have a divider. this way he only has enough room to stand stretch and turn around in. he wants a cozy bed, not a condo where one side is the pisser the other his bed. lol

Yeah...i got the one with the divider like you suggested. But he hates it tho, he whiles and yelps forever. Oh well tough love. But if i leave him in there for more than 2 hours he will pee, and i found him today sitting on pee. I cleaned and changed it.

But the thing is, at night i let him sleep on the bed near me, and he sleeps for 7-8 hrs straight, no need to pee.

some of that could be separation anxiety. come back and check on him often, letting him know that you are always SOMEWHERE near. ignore the whining and yelping that is associated with crate training. that will only teach him that whining will get him what he wants. so if he isnt successful the first few weeks, he wont do it as much.

Czar has et to dribble. His pee pee area is wet after he goes, so i do need to wipe it off with a paper towel, but never had any stray drops anywhere. Today was different...i caught him red handed peeing in the house, he did his little squat and i was immediately all over him..there was a path of dribble lol

You have to REALLY shake things to give them shaking syndrome.
