Since i am a huge fan of MMA, i figured we will have a MMA thread to discuss fighters, events, promotions..anything MMA related.

My favorite fighters are.

HW: Fedor Emelianenko
LHW: Lyoto Machida
MW: Anderson Silvia
WW: GSP
LW: BJ penn
FW: Urijah Faber

I my favorite organizations are the UFC and PRIDE (RIP:(), I also watch Dream and Strikeforce whenever i get the chance.

So what you guys think about the upcoming fight cards? I am exited about UFC 100 and Affliction triology.

Did you guys hear the latest news. Crocop is comming back to the UFC (http://mmajunkie.com/news/15054/mirko-cro-cop-filipovic-returns-ufc-officially-announces-ufc-99-bout-with-mostapha-al-turk.mma)..yay!

Oh even bigger news...Kimbo Slice is going to be on the next season of the Ultimate fighter coached by Quinton Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans. (http://mmajunkie.com/news/15060/kimbo-slice-scores-the-ultimate-fighter-10-slot.mma)

I used to wrestle with urijah faber when he was still doing small fights in sac... king of the ring stuff... wed always get free tickets. it was cool.

Leon
06-02-2009, 12:39 AM
So i am guessing your gonna be rooting for him in his upcoming fight with Mike Brown.

Dansgrizz
06-02-2009, 12:42 AM
For Sure! damn bastard wont hook up the tickets anymore though LOL...

Leon
06-02-2009, 12:43 AM
Yeah...hes gotten huge...Hes the poster boy for WEC. I hope his defeat to brown was a humbling experience, and he comes out strong in the next match.

Dansgrizz
06-02-2009, 12:48 AM
his conditioning is incredible and his striking is strong his wrestling skills aint bad either ;) i think he will do it.

Leon
06-02-2009, 12:51 AM
Yes...but Mike Brown has KO power. So Faber need to be quick, and use his wrestling to take it to the mat. I think he will win, but i can never count Brown out.

Crocops coming back huh? i used to be a huge fan but after that first UFC fight he had and got rodney kinged.... i lost hope.

Leon
06-02-2009, 12:58 AM
Well crocop had a hard time transitioning to the cage from the ring. Gabe got lucky in the first fight. And the second fight Congo just held crocop in the cage and humped him the whole fight. Hope he is prepared for the cage this time.

Whoa, Kimbo is gonna be on the ultimate fighter. Thats actually kind of cool. I don't care what anybody says, I think he actually has potential. I was reading a mma column on yahoo the other day and some of the user comments were saying that Fedor is overrated. Anybody who knows mma, knows that Fedor is, simply put, amazing. Dude is a machine, he would run all over ANYBODY in UFC. It's funny how people make UFC out to be the holy grail of MMA. Everytime I turn around Frank Mir is saying something about Fedor or Brock or whoever. I really hope Brock beats the dogs**t out of him. Cool thread.

Leon
06-02-2009, 11:57 AM
Fedor is the best heavy weight in the history of MMA. And yes he could beat anyone in the UFC or any other organization. But i do want him to fight in the UFC, because its a win for the fans. In the UFC we get Fedor vs Brock, Fedor vs Randy, Fedor vs Nog (Again lol), Fedor vs Carwin, Fedor vs Gabe Gonzaga..etc. Outside the UFC...we only have Fedor vs Barnett, and Fedor vs Alistar Overeem.

As for Kimbo, hes a cool guy but hes not a great MMA fighter as marketed by proelite. I am glad Kimbo wants to be considered legit and try out TUF. And its awesome for the fans too.

Yes i do hope Brock beat the crap out of Mir, It will be like his second accident lol

ItsMe
06-02-2009, 12:03 PM
Frank Mir talks too much. He's like another Dana White. Their cool and all, but they are not better than everybody. If Kimbo really trained like an MMA fighter is supposed to, for a long time, I think he could he could be good. Fedor should come to the UFC and show that he is the best of the best. He wouldn't be like Cro-Cop, he would win no matter what.

Leon
06-02-2009, 12:20 PM
Well and it would solidify his legacy, and prove without a doubt that he is the best.

What you think of machida?..you think he will be like fedor, hes undefeated as well.

ItsMe
06-02-2009, 02:03 PM
I'm pretty impressed with the little bit I've seen. I like his style. It seems like everybody is kinda doin the same thing these days, but he's doing it a little differently. I think he will go very far in his career, I hope he keeps winning.

Leon
06-02-2009, 03:15 PM
What you think about Machida's next match against Shogun rua? Its a hard one for me since i like em both. Shogun was awesome is PRIDE. i think if Shogun shows up in the same form he was in Pride he could take it. But at the same time, Shogun's aggressive style plays into the hands of the elusive Machida and could get Thiago'ed lol. It should be a good match.

ATLAS
06-02-2009, 03:18 PM
machida is a real good fighter...i missed the fight with evens. how did it go.i know evans lost but how was the fight. i like both those fighters..fedor is a beast , such a bad ass. if you watch the last fight mir vs brock..mir was not doing shit, brock didnt know better and got caught in a leg hold..hope brock beats him......hope kimbo makes it to the ultimate fighter so he can really get knocked out....faber vs brown now thats going to be good....going for faber.......anyone play the game yet if so how is it

Leon
06-02-2009, 04:15 PM
Evans got KTFO.

Leon
06-02-2009, 07:46 PM
The whole fight Evans landed maybe three weak shots. I fear the same fate for shogun, since he likes to come forward, and it might play right into machida style.

I want to play the game so bad, i was considering getting a 360 just to play it. Everyone says even though it has its flaws, its really fun, and a must own for MMA fans.

Theres some thing coming to my hometown (St.Louis) this weekend that some local fighters are promoting. Arlovski is gonna be there. Would love to go. If only I could cross the state line (I live right across the Sip in Illinois now). Oh well, I'm sure Andrei Arlovski will be coming here again real soon.

Leon
06-04-2009, 08:18 AM
Why cant you cross the state line? Looks like a good show to attended, especially with Arlovski, you should try to go.

Leon
06-08-2009, 09:01 AM
Huge weekend of upsets, the biggest one being Andrei Arlovski loosing to Brett Rogers.
http://www.fightreport.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/brett-rogers_andrei-arlovski.gif

Also Mike Brown beat Urijah Faber. Looks like Mike Brown is legit, i wonder what the next step is for Urijah.

urija broke his hand in the first round so he had to only use elbows the next four rounds...mik brown still could not take him out..yeah he won ...there will e another rematch...

Leon
06-11-2009, 01:03 PM
Yeah, it sucks that he broke his hands, not only because it played a huge part in his loss, but also that he will be sidelined till it heals up.

UFC 99 is coming up.

My picks.

Catchweight (195 lb) bout: Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva

Heavyweight bout:Cheick Kongo vs. Cain Velasquez[1]

Welterweight bout: Mike Swick vs. Ben Saunders[1]

Welterweight bout: Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy[1]

Lightweight bout: Spencer Fisher vs. Caol Uno[1]

Heavyweight bout: Mirko Filipović vs. Mostapha Al-turk[1]

ATLAS

ok my picks....wanderlei silva have to go with pride fighter...cheick kongo i dont know why ....mike quick swick fastest ko i think thats the guy...mirko comeback....i hope im not working so i can see it

Leon
06-11-2009, 02:31 PM
Rich Franklin is more well rounded than Wanderlei, but Wanderlei has better stand up, Wanderlei has to work on his head movements, he is getting slow lately. But i think he can KO Franklin.

Cain Valasquez is up and coming, and is undefeated with convincing victories. He is great on the feet and on the ground. But Kongo does have better clinch, so if he can hold Cain against the cage and use dirty boxing, he could pull it off.

Anybody catch the ultimate finale this weekend? It was pretty good. Lookin forward to UFC 100.

Leon
06-22-2009, 11:30 AM
I missed it and was pretty bummed. But i heard the main event between Guida and Sanchez was an absolute war.

UFC 100 is going to be good, this summer is going to be great for MMA fans. Lots of good fights.

ItsMe

I normally root for people with good muai thai. But i will admit, wresting is the single most important base skill in MMA. If you are good at wresting, and learn decent striking, you can pretty much run through most people.

So who was disappointed with the Ultimate Fighter Finale?

ME!

can't even talk about it irks me to bad. GRRRrrr

Leon
06-23-2009, 02:42 PM
Disappointed?, it wasn't bad at all. Other than a few judging decisions..melvin gullard did not win that fight.

christySYK
06-23-2009, 02:51 PM
I had such HIGH hopes for DaMarques though to win for the US. His last fight to get in to the finales was INSANE! I was yelling at the tv lol It was horribly disappointing to see him be submitted in the first round with only 8 seconds to go. He should have held out for those 8 seconds. Blah! I bet we will see DaMarques in the ring again though he's a great fighter.

Oh well I am looking forward to Henderson beating the snot outta Bisping and I hope Mir knocks Lesner silly.

Leon
06-23-2009, 03:04 PM
Mir is not knocking out Lesnar, Mir does not have KO power, just because he TKO'ed Noguera who wasn't even 100% in his fight does not mean Mir has a great stand up, just that Noguera's stand up sucked. I predict this fight to go just like the first one, Mir knocks down Lesnar, then proceeds to GnP him for a TKO.

As for Henderson-Bisbing fight, i have a feeling Bisbing is going to counter strike the whole time, and Henderson needs to take him to the ground as soon as possible, and control him. I will be rooting for Henderson, but there is no clear favorite on who is going to win this one.

christySYK
06-23-2009, 03:24 PM
I didn't say he was GOING to knock him out just that I want him to. I can't stand Lesner the guys a moron lol

Bisping and Henderson and pretty even matched so we'll see, it will def be a good fight.

Leon
06-23-2009, 03:28 PM
Yeah, Lesnar is completely unsportsmanlike. After the heath herring fight, i lost a lot of respect for him as a person. I admit he is a great athlete, but a total d-bag. The only reason i want Lesnar to win is because, there are a lot of exiting matches later on, with Cain, Dos Santos, or Carwin. Fedor needs to get his ass to the UFC, if he is the best HW in the world, prove it in the biggest stage for MMA.

Dana White has talked alot of crap about Kimbo in the past saying that the only way he would let him in the UFC is to make it through the Ultimate Fighter. I also hear that the up coming season will be only heavy weights and they dont fight their way onto the show like the past few seasons. Anyone else heard this?

Leon
06-29-2009, 09:56 AM
Yup, Its only heavy weights and is coached by Quinton Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans who are light heavy weights...hmmmm..Also the contestant don't have to have to fight their way in. I mean it makes sense in terms of marketing, what if Kimbo looses the fight, the biggest draw of the season is gone.

ItsMe

Yeah, I had read this a few weeks ago. My understanding is that its true.

kimbo is not ment for the UFC he will always get his ass kicked, he got his ass kicked in elite xc....the only reason he has all the hype is because of his street fights when he used to beat up lil punks but when he gets in the ring with a pro..lights out kimbo slice, stick a fork in him, hes done....

i just dont like kimbo, i think he doesnt belong in the ufc....as for ufc 100...

lesnar will beat mir....lesnar knows what mir is goin to do....mir cant go toe to toe with lesnar so the fight will probably be on the ground ending in referee stoppage due to strikes...LESNAR 1st round

GSP will beat Thiago Silva....hes just goin to whoop his ass, so what if silva beat hughes, hughes is old already not in his prime anymore...GSP KO 2nd Rd.

Henderson Over Bisping.....i hate Bisping attitude and his a real a-hole by the way he potrayed himself on TUF...IMO opinion the fight will go the distance, they are both good on their feet, its goin to be a good fight overall....Henderson by Decision

Leon
06-30-2009, 12:01 AM
I agree with all of them, except GSP via KO? thats a bold prediction. I say GSP TKO R3 or R4

I wonder what Dana thinks of Bobby Lashley, he seems to be improving after every fight and he is a awesome wrestler.

razors_edge
06-30-2009, 11:58 AM
i like lashley he was very impressive in his fight against SAPP.....dana is a smart guy, whatever choices he makes is goin to be better for his pocket....he gets guys from other sports who already have hype and that makes the fights more intresting, which means more money for dana....

ItsMe
06-30-2009, 01:26 PM
Thats all it really comes down to with Dana. Thats why its funny when he says stuff like Fedor isn't the best until he comes to UFC. Thats him using manipulation to try and line his pockets some more.

Leon
06-30-2009, 01:30 PM
Dana actually said Fedor sucks. LOL. But in all honesty you cant be considered the best when you never fought in the biggest league. The UFC is where the best fighters are at the moment, so Fedor should come to the UFC to prove that he is still the best.

ItsMe
06-30-2009, 01:34 PM
Him saying that is another way of trying to bait him in, I think. I think Fedor likes a pure fight thats about the fight, not the show of it. Nonetheless, I wish he would come to the UFC.

Leon
06-30-2009, 02:05 PM
Affliction Trilogy looks pretty decent, much better than their older card. Exited to see Fedor in action, even though i know its probably going to be another lopsided victory. But i think this is the last fight on his contract with Affliction. So i am hoping there is some negotiation with the UFC.

razors_edge
06-30-2009, 03:08 PM
yeah he has one more fight against Burnett and after that im pretty sure he is goin to come to the UFC and probably fight for the title within the first 3 fights.....Brock vs Fedor man, that would be a fight for the ages, i think Fedor would beat him....

ItsMe

I co-sign that...

Leon
06-30-2009, 03:14 PM
I dont think there is one MMA fan that does not want to see Fedor fight Brock. It would be awesome. Even though Fedor vs Randy has lost its luster, i still want to see it, Randy still is a great technical fighter.

razors_edge
06-30-2009, 03:28 PM
Randy? that fight was supposed to happen a long time ago...couture doesnt stand a chance against no1, not even Heath Herrings sorry azz...brock embaressed him...the only person i think could take on fedor is brock....i watch some of fedors fights and he is a beast.....hes like a heavyweight Gracie, doesnt look like he can fight, doesnt have the body build of a fighter....and he lost only one fight and that was early in his career, like the 4th or 5th fight back in 01-02.....he can only get better and he has proven that....this man will not lose until he gets older n is out of his prime....hes 33 yrs old and whoopin ass....arlovski is 3 years younger and he gets punished by sorry fighters IMO....Fedor will Not lose until he decides to retire.........JMO

Leon
06-30-2009, 03:39 PM
But he cant retire while there are contenders out there to challenge him. You can only be considered the best of all time if you fight and beat all contenders. I don't know what Fedor will do after Affliction, but i hope he comes to the UFC, then no one can doubt him status as the best HW of all time.

As for Randy, well Brock had a huge size advantage on Randy. I think Fedor would be evenly matched for Randy, given the size, and Randy has really good wrestling and is very good at the clinch.

razors_edge
06-30-2009, 03:49 PM

Leon
06-30-2009, 03:55 PM

razors_edge
06-30-2009, 04:08 PM
randy doesnt have anything to prove anymore so i dont even know why he wants to fight. he is the greatest UFC heavyweight...i have respect for the man though, to b 47 and still have the drive to go into the ring and get his ass kicked by younger guys takes alot of balls....lol....hes like a pitbull, he never wants to quit....Noguiera is goin to beat him, not by knock out probably by decision.....What do yall think about the Griffin vs Silva....right now i think silva is the best fighter in the ufc and 80% of his fights he won by KO forrest griffin will be just another stat...

Leon
06-30-2009, 04:15 PM
I don't know if Griffin will be KO'ed by the spider. Griffin has one of the best chins in MMA, and he never quits, Silvia will beat him, but i don't think it will be in a dominating fashion. Griffin can take a lot of punishment, so i would guess that the fight goes into the second round, or even third. I predict a second round TKO victory for Silvia. But this fight has the potential to go to decision.

OldfortKennels

Dana put Griffin when Silvia for one and only reason. To make it exiting. All of Silvia's recent opponents were terrible, and Dana apologized to the fans after the Silvia-Leites fight and promised better completion for Silvia. Dana talked about it, but its one fight that will never happen. Anderson and Lyoto are from the same training camp, they train togather and are good friends. Anderson himself said that the 205 division is Lyotos.

the fight wil happen eventually....i think if Dana puts up the cash and the fans want to see the fight, they will fight and hug and go to dinner afterwards....this is a bussiness and a job....

Leon

Lyoto is extremely elusive. A lot of people find his style boring, but i think its intriguing. No one has yet to land a clean punch on Lyoto. I think he is going to be a champ for a while. Shogun is a legit contender if he is fully recovered from his surgeries. But the problem is, when you go through knee surgery, your never fully recovered, but we will see.

razors_edge

lyoto knows how to defend against the attack, he gets them tired then capitalizes....its so basic and simple but damn it work thats why hes undefeated....

Same here. But Rashad is more well rounded. Rashad has better striking, but Rampage has better boxing. So this should be a good stand up fight, i would say someone is getting KO'ed. Like Rampage said "i am ready for some black on black crime":D

im pretty sure if he doesnt go to jail he will get probation, hes already doing community service....in situations like this money talks, im pretty sure if it was me i would be doing 2-3 years federal time.....these celebrites and politicians get off easy except for that Madoff dude he got 150 years fed time....but back to MMA...have u heard anything about CRO COP..? ive actually drove thru his neighborhood once when i was small but CRO COP wasnt what he is today...i wish he comes to the ufc and stays in the ufc...the dude is young and he still has 7-8 yrs in him....

Leon
07-01-2009, 11:39 AM
Cro Cop signed a one fight deal with UFC then he bolted from the UFC after his controversial victory over of al-turk. I believe he is now signed with the Japanese organization Dream, and will be fighting in their upcoming Dream 10 card.

I am not sure sure if you have HDNET on tv, but if your a MMA fan, Spike TV and HDNET are a must. Dream is shown for free on HDNET. UFC is on Spike, and everything else MMA is on HDNET.

razors_edge

i only have SPIKE tv no hdnet....what was so contrversial, cuz he poked him in the eye??? he would have beat his azZ anyways

Leon
07-01-2009, 11:50 AM
Thats not the point though, he still poked his eye and it was a pretty bad poke. Sure cro crop would have finished him regardless, but this victory was directly related to the eye poke.

He probably left for dream because of the bigger pay check. But if you want to catch him fight, get HDNET, it is totally worth it. MMA in HD..cant get better than that.

Shane Carwin vs. Cain Velasquez in works for UFC 104 in Los Angeles on Oct. 24 (http://mmajunkie.com/news/15377/shane-carwin-vs-cain-velasquez-in-works-for-ufc-104-in-los-angeles-on-oct-24.mma)

This is huge, i am pretty sure the winner of this fight gets the next title shot. I am picking Cain to win this one, he has a great GNP, take downs and wresting. He needs work on his striking, but other than that he is much better than Carwin. But if Cain decides to stand it up, Carwin will KO him. This is another match that has Brutal KO or TKO written all over it.

I think Carwin might be the hardest hitter in the HW division, Cain better watch out, he almost got KO'd by Check Kongo in their last fight. Cain need to take it to the ground asap, but it will be hard to keep Carwin down, since he has good Wresting look. This is going to be a very interesting match.

There is always a in between man, not in terms of the result, but in terms of the future. If you almost got Ko'ed, that means your stand up needs work. Its something Carwin is going to factor into his game plan.

This summer is going to a awesome summer for MMA. Too bad the damn PPV's cost around 60 bucks. I am gonna be broke

I would like to see Kimbo do well as well, but i doubt he has the work ethic to do so. His former trainer Bas Rutten said before his last fight to seth in EliteXC, Bas wanted to work on some ground skills, and Kimbo said no he didnt want to, because the fight wont go to the ground..

There are some really good HW on next seasons TUF, guys much bigger and stronger than Kimbo. They have a few guys from the NFL, who already have won a few MMA fights, so i really have a hard time imagining Kimbo winning TUF. If he does, i will instantly be a Kimbo fan.

Ithink the UFC needs some new tallent in the heavy weight devision. It lacks the tallent pool that the other devisions have. I think Kimbo will sell out seats but lack the brains to make it very far.

Leon
07-03-2009, 02:33 AM
The thing about the HW division is that you have a lot of upcoming talent and not much established talent. You have guys like Cain valaquez, Shane Carwin, Dos Santos, who are just climbing up the HW ladder. I would assume the HW division is going to stacked by 2010. Hopefully, Fedor decides to come over to the UFC, Then it would be really awesome.

Kimbo should move down to LHW, he does not carry a lot on him, i believe his fight weight is around 230ish Lbs. He could make 205 if he tried. If he does go to LHW, there are good possibilities, like Houston Alexander, James Irvin, or even Chuck Liddel or Wanderlei Silvia.

I agree that there is some good tallent coming in, if Congo gets his ground game together I think he could be a serious contender. Shane Carwin looks promising as does Cain. Still think that they need more fish in the pond.

Leon

i think silva would take him out this time.....chucks about to be 40 and silva is 7 yrs younger, i dont know why but age means alot to me, once u hit 36-37 ur reactions r slower and u r not the same fighter when u were 25-35 yrs old....i like wanderlei's styles he goes out there and throws down, if he gets knocked out he still puts on a good show, his fights i will pay 60 dollars to see, its worth it....i have respect for that man

Leon
07-06-2009, 11:59 AM
I think in MMA years Wanderlei is older, Because in combat sports and many other sports, your age is not just the number, but what you have done in those years. Wanderlei has fought a lot more, and has been hit a lot more, and he has taken waay more damage than Chuck in their career. You can see it in Wnderlei's latest fights, he moves like a person much older then him, his head movements are slow, his feet work is crappy. He is one of my fav fighters from Pride, but man, he is pretty beat up.

Leon

Both GSP and Brock won in dominant fashion.

Alves take down defense sucked balls. Way to come prepared to face one of the best wrestlers in MMA.

Brock just smothered Mir ever since the fight started, i am surprised that it went to R2.

I am happy with the card so far. All the fighters i wanted to win won. Mark Coleman shocked me.

I read that during the taping of the pre-fight interview promo for spiketv, Brock got so mad at the footage of him submitting being played over and over that he got up, punched a door and knocked it off its hinges.

Leon

If you watched the first fight againt the two. It was pretty much like that except mir did not get the submission. Winner of Carwin vs Cain for the title shot.

Frank Mir was talking pretty greazy before the fight, I can understand why Brock threw it in his face. Not to mention, we don't see every second before a fight-theres no telling what these guys say to each other before a fight.

I just think Brock has a genuin dis like for Mir. They are to way different people as Brock is a simple guy and Mir is a pretty boy. Its not the first or the ast time shit talking like that will happen, plus it made for good hype.
Good to see Dan Henderson shut Bisbings mouth, in a BIG way.

Leon
07-12-2009, 03:26 PM
Yeah, Brock does dislike Mir, especially when Mir keeps rubbing in his face about his rookie mistake of their first fight.

For instance in the Randy Coture fight, Brock was the first to shake his hand.

I think Mir took the fight a little to lightly in my oppinion. I know he trainned hard and came in good shape but I think when it came down to it he thought he was going to make a quick subission

Leon
07-12-2009, 03:35 PM
I don't know, Mir just seemed to know he is going to loose before the fight. I mean, other than BJJ he has nothing against Brock. And BJJ specialists mostly win if the other guy makes mistakes. And this time Brock is not going to make the same mistake.

By law of the sport he had every rite to, you go untill the ref pulls you off. Now was it necesary to give him a shot like that after he was out absoufuckinlootly not, but thats the risk you take when you talk shit like Bisbing did. He took the shit talking a little far and paid the price. my oppinin. Rampage did the same thing to Vanderlay.

The moral of the story is you can't talk to people any crazy old way you want to. These are men who have made a career out of knocking each other out and its just business. Theres no reason to start talking crazy and you are liable for the things you say if you do. Hence the extra forearm. (LOL, talkin about MMA fighters.)

Forrest is screwed, i just don't see how he can win. Silvia's stand up is one of the best in MMA, great boxing and Muai Thai, much better than Forrest. And he has a Black belt in BJJ. I expect Forrest to get Franklined, and Forrest is going to have a black eye for a long time.

Leon

Carwin is more of a threat to Brock then Cain, because of his standup. He could KO Lesnar.

razors_edge
07-21-2009, 09:17 AM
yeah i think carwin will take cain out, the dude is a a beast.....hes the same size of brock...i think brock would take him out cuz carwin was talkin shit about him on his blog....cains last 2 fights against kongo and stojnic werent impressive at all, he dominated against stojnic but he didnt dominate like he should have....i think cain is overrated

Leon
07-21-2009, 09:26 AM
See thats a mistake, Carwin is really a lot smaller than Brock, If you notice in the Gonzaga fight, Carwin looked smaller than Gonzaga. I think Carwin is only 240 or 250lbs, while Brock is easily 270lbs.

If its standing Carwin could KO or TKO Cain. But Carwins ground game is untested, even though he is good wrestler on paper, Cain has showed more dominance on the ground. Also both Cain and Carwin were both rocked in the last fights, so we know both of them have good chins. This should be a good fight.

Also if you checked the latest news, Dan Henderson will be fighting Rich Franklin Again at UFC 103..the suck man. What the hell, another boring rematch.

razors_edge
07-21-2009, 09:35 AM
shane carwin is 6'3 165lbs and brock is the same height and weight as him....hopefully that hendo - franklin fight some1 gets knocked out, cuz ur right the fight was boring

Leon
07-21-2009, 09:40 AM
On fight night against Gonzaga Carwin was less than 250lbs. Brock is by far the biggest in the HW division. And weight advantage is huge when it comes to wrestling. If it goes to the ground, Brock will win. But Carwin has decent take down defense, so he will be the first one to test Brock's stand up. That is IF he gets past Cain. People give Cain too little credit, but he is more well rounded than Carwin.

razors_edge
07-21-2009, 09:50 AM
im not a big fan of cain, hopefully carwin win and takes out brock, which i doubt......only person i see takin out brock is fedor....which is goin to happen by the way....not anytime time soon maybe a year....hopefully brock doesnt leave the UFC to go play in the MLB cuz he hears fedors footsteps

The latest I heard on the Brock-Fadore fight is that it may not happen due to EA Sports putting out a mma game. Dana has a grudge agenst EA becouse they told him to pound sand when making this last UFC game. Joe Silva told yahoo sports that anyone that participated in the EA Sports game would never fight in the UFC with the exception of Dandy Coture.

razors_edge
07-22-2009, 08:29 AM
i dont consider fedor the greaatest HW of all time, not until he competes in the UFC and fights the best fighters around the world....when he comes to the ufc and if he dominates then u can consider him the greatest hw of all time

Leon
07-22-2009, 08:44 AM
When pride was the biggest the organization in the world, he was the best HW in the world. But time has moved on since then. And he hasn't fought a legit heavy since around 2005-06. His fans use the fact that he beat two former UFC champions to validate his greatest HW status. Two things there..one they are "former" champions, that means they were already beaten by someone else, so fedor beating them is nothing special. Second, they are not in the UFC anymore, because they cant hang in the UFC HW division anymore. So your saying, Fedor beat some former UFC champ, who isn't even good enough to be in the weak UFC HW division to validate his greatness? funny. Also as further proof that Arlovski and Tim Silvia are washed up and overrated, they both lost their first fight after Fedor in embarrassing fashion to guys who cant even compete in the UFC level.

Leon
07-22-2009, 10:54 PM
Big news. Josh Barnett failed his drug test. The main event of Afflictions card is in Limbo. I think this is the nail in the coffin for Affliction. And now that Fedor has no one else to fight, he might consider coming to the UFC.

I just watched a interview with Dana White on ESPN. He said, if Fedor comes he will immediately get the title shot.

I am looking forward to CroCop vs Dos santos, and Cain Vs Carwin, those fights could have a play in who is next in line.

I think a Brock vs Crocop would be more popular then even Fedor since more people know CroCop and his crazy leg kicks.

razors_edge
07-25-2009, 10:56 AM
thats my favorite fighter of all time.......cro cop tasted his own medicine one time when he got knocked the F out by Gonzaga........Brock vs Cro Cop, i doubt that will ever happen unless Brock loses well WHEN he LOSES his belt to Fedor, Cro Cop is the shit though man he went the distance with Fedor and most fighters cant do that, they either get submitted or KOd real quick.....the thing about fedor is that most fighters in the UFC dont have the fighting style like Fedor, they train Muay Thai and BJJ or wrestling......he trains Sambo and Judo so i wonder how that will effect his game when he comes to the UFC.......i think there need to be a Cro COp vs Fedor 2....

Leon
07-25-2009, 03:16 PM
The cage plays a big part in strategy. Look what Kongo did against CroCop, he just pushed him against the cage and held him there. So i am wondering how good Fedor would do in a cage.
