Heartworm Medication

Well its about that time that we put Enzo on some heart worm medication. But before I go ahead and get the one that they have at my vet, I figured I would ask everyone on here which brand that they use or what you guys think is the best brand. Also where do you buy your medication at? Your vet or something like pet meds.

I get my interceptor at my vet.... Convenient n I have a receipt record with my vet so if my dog gets heartworm. I terceptor is paying for the treatment in full!!!!

I know with heartguard they will pay for the treatment but you have to prove that the dog was on the meds at least for the last year.

not sure if its the same with interceptor or not.

The proof is the receipt, how else? My vet informed me the receipt was sufficient

ohh not too sure. my wife works at a vets office and they said thats the info they require thru their vets. maybe in different areas they have different requirements?

I use Ivomec I talked to my vet about it before I started using it he gave me the breakdown of how much per dogs weight cost half the price as the pills but unlike with the pills they will not pay for treatment if my dogs get HW

I use Ivomectin as well but my vet supports it as a good heart worm prevenative and I get it from my vet and he breaks it down for me. His cost is cheaper than the stores.

Im not sure what medication my vet carries but when I take Enzo in this weekend for his booster shots I will find out
