Ok folks, it's that time again! Mid Florida APBTA fun show is coming up on Saturday September 19th! Park opens at 10:00am and we'll be set up by 10:30 am!!! Stay posted about weight pull....it has been very hot for the dogs to be pulling any substantial weights. We may continue to have weight pull training instead of actual competition. We'll follow that with lunch ($5 per plate) and then kick off our afternoon of conformation dog show!!! Ribbons and trophies galore....but it's all for fun and an opportunity to get our pits out in the public.
Please understand Mid Florida APBTA is a sanctioned club of the American Dog Breeders Association. Our conformation events are judged according to the ADBA standard and when we have weight pull competitions they are conducted according to ADBA weight pull rules. With that being said all pit bulls are welcomed at our events....rescue, mixes, UKC, AKC, American Bullys. And, we have something for each of these types of pit bulls that come out each and every month. One of the characteristics you may see is dog on dog aggression. This does not mean we encourage that trait, and it does not mean a pit bull has gone bad or is dangerous. It simply means that it can be a natural characteristic. We as an organization understands this. We practice safety, but do not discriminate against any pit bull. For those individuals who own pit bulls that do not display this trait we do not want you to be alarmed by it, but rather be educated about it. Please do not fear what you do not understand.
Lots of ribbons where left unclaimed last month....you know your pit bull is a champ so bring him or her out! Enjoy some great food, and some good looking dogs! But most importantly enjoy our Mid Florida family.
Spread the word to all your pit bull friends...the more the merrier! We are a responsible dog owners group who love this breed and work hard to protect it. Come on out and be a part! NO DOG FIGHTERS.
Got questions....email us....
See you soon!
