Boogie Man was bred by the daughter of the late J.R. Loposay. Boogie Man was whelped October 17, 1983. He was later purchased for $100.00 from a gentleman who thought he was a dogman. This self proclaimed dogman put a 4 year old back end dog on Boogie Man when he was only 10 months old and after seeing that Boogie Man couldn't handle the 4 year old barnstormer, gave up on Boogie Man. The new owner was more than happy to take him off his hands and with some proper schooling Boogie Man turned out to be a hard biting shoulder dog.
For his first match he went into a 1x winner and came from behind after 45 minutes to win. The second contest was into Ricky Jones with a dog named Prince. When Boogie Man arrived at Ricky's place his owner was told that they would be picking Boogie Man up after 15 minutes because his front end would be gone but as it turned out Boogie Man had Prince's shoulder broke after 45 minutes. Ricky picked up Prince at 1:03.
Boogie Man's third match was a mistake but it proved to be his gamest. Boogie Man went back into Ricky Jones who was using a dog named Soldier,a strong nose dog who was in top shape. With all the blood Boogie Man lost and the fact that Soldier just would not let loose his hold to let Boogie Man into his chest. Boogie Man was picked up in 39 minutes and he scratched hard to everyone's surprise. That just goes to show you that you can not beat a good dogman with the same dog twice.
Boogie Man's fourth was into a dog named Rusty who was a 1x winner from the coast of South Carolina that was to be one of the best to come out of the area in awhile. Even though Rusty gave Boogie Man a good nose chewing, Rusty stood cold at 40 minutes.
